The one everyone means when they say they're going to the Cross. Small, loud in the best way, and open from breakfast through to 1am at the weekend. Roof terrace, a decent smoking area, and burgers worth staying for. Live music regularly and a club room upstairs. Skinny Malinky's runs a permanent food stall on site. Dogs welcome. Don't drive — parking is a nightmare.
A proper pub that takes its Sunday roast seriously. Opens at half nine on weekends for breakfast and runs to 1am on a Saturday — few places in the Cross cover both ends of the day like that. Live music on and off. Good for big groups and the kind of place that handles a function without fuss.
Ornamental gardens on Canford Cliffs, open year-round with a café and plant centre on site.
Wood-fired beachside sauna on Sandbanks Beach — a 65-minute communal or private session, sauna to sea and back. Part of a small three-site Dorset operator; book up to four weeks ahead via their online calendar.
